Can Snapchat Snap Back?

Snap, Inc. held its earnings report this week, and the news was not good, at least from he perspective of Wall Street. The company’s quarterly loss more than tripled, and the number of people using the app failed to grow to any significant degree. There are more advertisers on the platform, but CPM’s have dropped meaning the growing number of advertisers didn’t mean significant growth in revenue.

The news shared by Snap, Inc. did not please investors. Snap, Inc. is yet another tech company failing to meet investor expectations. It almost feels like reading news about Twitter after it became a public company all over again.

Do Teens Signal the End of Facebook?

Facebook's Q3 2013 earnings report made big news. One reason is because Facebook just completed its first $2 billion quarter. The most provocative headlines, however, focused on news that daily use by younger teens decreased in Q3, confirming what some pundits have been stating for some time: Teens don't like Facebook. In fact, teens may be the harbingers of Facebook's demise.

So does a decline in teen engagement mark the beginning of the end for Facebook? No.
